meya

never launched

Meya sets tall vertical brush strokes over an angled gradient, deliberate lines against shifting colour. It is the debut of Carbon, a Dart library written from scratch to take over from p5.js: canvas control, primitives, colours, and fxhash wrappers, all mine.

Final tweaks to the rules and dimensions for “Meya”. I’m gearing up to integrate the fx.params and set it for launch. Super thrilled – this is the debut on my new engine, sans p5js.

Had a chat with @SteveMakerspace on Discord yesterday! He suggested adding a full border I was a fan of the asymmetry, but added it as a param option After some playing, loving it more - making it the default! If you haven’t, follow him & join us on his Discord!

Colors

Starting to experiment with my new brushes and some filters.

Sampling of my new brush engine.

It has 1936 possible combinations (speed and pressure). If that isn’t enough there is a custom curve creator. - In previous tweets

The combinations then take a brush, which has its own set of rules to render. (The image uses my “simple” brush)

I have enjoyed p5JS to create my art. But it doesn’t work in the way I want moving forward. So I am creating “Carbon”, a lib in Dart tailored to me and my art, I already have canvas control, primitives - with control, colors and api wrappers.

Test build with carbon
